Kris James Mehrmann, born November 1959 lives just outside of Honolulu and is one of those persons who walks into a room and wakes everyone up and keeps them laughing. The highlights of my life are our visits with each other.

I have much to say and as soon as I have time, I will....especially about my work with the Southeastern Guide Dog group. And if I can find someone to show me how to send pics I'll bore you all with them. As of February 2012 no longer with Southeastern Guide Dog group. Have switched to the Suncoast Puppy Raisers which is a branch of the Guide Dog Foundation which is based in Smithtown, N.Y. and has sent us wonderful puppies. A wonderful group of people whom are now like family to me. I can't describe the beautiful feeling a "Puppy Raiser" experiences when seeing a puppy they have raised maturing & completing training and leading a blind person. Don't anyone let me hear that they are "bored" in retirement. Get out there and do something. It really does keep you active & happy. Check out Suncoastpupraisers.org

Allie hated being called Alice.  I don't know why.  We did have fun together, sleepovers, etc.  We both worked at Airborne Instruments at the same time for a while.  What a job getting her awake in the morning!

 

By the way Joan (knittel)-- you live fairly near my son Kris (Mehrmann) who lives in Kapolei, the one place I haven't been to.  I have visited him several times over the years he's lived in Hawaii and one time I even went up to a woman when we were at a buffet brunch and asked if it could possibly be you.  Just a little embarrassing, but she did resemble you.
